James Cramer, who disappeared from his home last week, was found dead Sunday morning along the Appalachian Trail.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Manuel Cabrera Maldonado, from Troop L-Jonestown, Cramer was discovered by a search party at 11 a.m. Sunday. Cramer’s body was found in the Bethel Township area of the Appalachian Trail.
The search party notified PSP-Schuylkill Haven. Troopers out of the Schuylkill Haven barracks handled the death investigation, according to Maldonado.
Earlier this weekend, State Police said they found Cramer’s vehicle at a parking lot near the Appalachian Trail in Schuylkill County, in the Port Clinton area.
Cramer’s family members said in social media posts that he had been suffering from “severe depression” before leaving his house in Myerstown on the evening of July 23.
