A free program at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park near Pine Grove next month will mark Veterans Day by honoring the nation’s first veterans with songs and stories from the American Revolution.
Matthew Dodd will present “250th Anniversary Salute” at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Sweet Arrow Lake Clubhouse.
Dressed in period costume in front of a Colonial tavern set, Dodd takes audiences back to the days of Colonial settlement and the Revolution, using period music and stories to put the songs into the context of their time.
He sings and plays guitar and banjo throughout the show while sharing history and stories from the Revolutionary period.
The Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association is sponsoring the event. It’s free and open to the public.
