A Schuylkill County woman was jailed on a burglary charge after Ashland police say she got into a W. Centre St. property Monday through a hole in the wall.
Shauna Weber, 33, of Ashland, is charged with burglary and criminal trespass, both felonies.
Police received a call shortly after 1 p.m. Monday reporting a burglary in progress at a property in the 1600 block of W. Centre St. The caller said a woman wearing a gray hoodie and gray sweatpants had fled.
One officer checked the area for anyone matching that description while another went to the property. There, he spoke with two men who told police they work on the property, which is owned by a relative of one of the men who is hospitalized.
The men told police they went inside and heard movement upstairs. They then saw a woman, and possibly a man, flee the property.
One of the men took a picture of the woman as she stood across the street after leaving, according to police. The officer identified her from the photo as Weber.
The man also told police there was a hole in the wall separating the property from the one next door, and that was how she got in. Police photographed the entry point.
Weber was arraigned Monday evening before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, who set bail at $25,000. She was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 25 before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli in Frackville.
