Schuylkill County Man Threatened to “Make Her Bleed” in Front of Children, Police Say

Rubio charged with assault, harassment

A Schuylkill County man threatened to “make her bleed” during a confrontation with the mother of his children at her Mahanoy City home, police say.

Deiby Lora Rubio, 28, of Mahanoy City, is charged by Mahanoy City police with simple assault and harassment stemming from the Sept. 1 incident.

A woman called the Mahanoy City police station shortly after 6 p.m. that day and reported that she was at her home waiting for the children’s paternal aunt to arrive for a scheduled pickup. Instead, the children’s father, Rubio, showed up at the residence, the woman told police.

Rubio entered the home around 6 p.m. and immediately became volatile, the woman told police. She said he threatened to “make her bleed” and made multiple verbal threats of physical assault against her.

Those threats took place in the immediate presence of the couple’s children, police say. Rubio then left the residence with the children, according to police.

The woman also told police that Rubio has a history of domestic violence and prior verbal threats against her.

Rubio was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, who set bail at $25,000 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 1 before Kilker.
