A Schuylkill County woman is accused of slashing her boyfriend nearly a dozen times with his own pocketknife during a fight over her car keys.
Lisa Kenderdine, 44, of Schuylkill Haven, is charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony, along with simple assault and harassment. She is free after posting $50,000 bail on Friday.
Troopers from State Police-Schuylkill Haven were called shortly before midnight on Aug. 27 to a home in South Manheim Township for a report of a domestic altercation.
The man told police he and Kenderdine, his girlfriend, had a couple of drinks at a nearby bar earlier in the evening. When they returned to his residence later that night, a verbal altercation started between them.
Kenderdine wanted to leave and drive home, the man said. He told police he believed she was too intoxicated to drive, and that a physical altercation began over possession of the keys.
Kenderdine then took his 3-inch steel pocketknife and slashed the right side of his torso in order to get the keys from him, he said. He told police he was done dealing with her and gave up the keys, and that Kenderdine then left in her white Jeep Wrangler.
Police reported seeing 11 lacerations across the right side of the man’s torso. A 3-inch steel SOG pocketknife was taken from the scene, police say.
Troopers reached Kenderdine by phone and she agreed to meet them at a gas station in Schuylkill Haven. Kenderdine told police the two had been out drinking with friends, and that a verbal altercation started between them after they got home.
She told police things began to get physical when the man tried hiding her keys and threw her to the ground, and that she was able to retrieve the keys and leave the residence.
Kenderdine also told police the man attempted to place a knife in her hand during the altercation, but that she did not touch him.
Kenderdine was arraigned Aug. 28 before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. before Magisterial District Judge Casimir Kosciolek.
