A Schuylkill County man faces felony charges after allegedly assaulting three State Police troopers during a disturbance earlier this month.
Travis Reber, 37, of Pine Grove, was arrested by State Police following an incident at a residence in Pine Grove Township on Aug. 5.
State Police responded at about 2 p.m. to a report that Reber was damaging property inside a home. While en route, troopers confirmed Reber had an active Lebanon County bench warrant for failure to appear and was the defendant in an active Protection From Abuse order.
Upon arrival, troopers located Reber locked inside a bedroom, according to police. Investigators said Reber refused multiple commands to open the door after troopers identified themselves and informed him of the active warrant. Troopers forced the bedroom door open.
A physical struggle ensued as police attempted to place Reber into custody, they say. Police allege Reber actively resisted arrest by refusing commands to place his hands behind his back, shoving and kicking one Trooper, and kicking two other troopers. Police said Reber kicked a Trooper again while being escorted to a patrol vehicle, causing the Trooper’s body camera to fall off his uniform.
Police charged Reber with three felony counts of aggravated assault on a designated individual, three misdemeanor counts of simple assault, one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, and three summary counts of harassment.
Reber was arraigned Aug. 5 before Magisterial District Judge Christian Lengel, who set bail at $150,000. Reber was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1 before Lengel after a hearing last week was continued.
