Schuylkill County Man Accused of Dragging Woman Across the Street with His Vehicle

Teresavage faces assault charges

A Schuylkill County man is accused of dragging a woman across a roadway with his vehicle earlier this week.

Patrick Teresavage, 47, of Shenandoah, is charged with second-degree misdemeanors for simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, along with summary offenses for reckless driving and careless driving.

Police in Frackville say they were called to S. Balliet St. at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of a woman who was injured after being dragged by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated she and Teresavage had been arguing in their vehicle while she was being dropped off.

The woman told police she stepped out of the vehicle and attempted to grab her belongings. While she was still partially inside the car, police allege Teresavage knowingly accelerated, pulling the woman to the ground and dragging her across the roadway.

Police observed a large area of deep abrasions and raw skin on the woman’s left abdominal and hip area. Officers say the injuries were consistent with how the incident was reported to have happened.

Teresavage was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and released on $15,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 29.
