A 64-year-old Auburn woman faces assault and driving under the influence charges after police say she crashed her SUV in South Manheim Township, threatened a security guard, and wandered away from the scene while highly intoxicated.
Roslyn Savage is charged with multiple misdemeanors, including three counts of driving under the influence, simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, intentional possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also faces multiple summary traffic and conduct offenses.
Police say they responded to Wynonah Drive shortly after 3:30 p.m. on April 1 for a crashed orange SUV blocking the westbound lane. A witness and a Lake Wynonah security guard reported responding to the vehicle, which had a blown-out tire and deployed airbag. Upon their arrival, police say Savage became verbally aggressive and threatened to punch the guard in the face.
Police say they located Savage walking at a little before 4 p.m. She claimed she last drove “yesterday” and appeared confused, unsteady on her feet, and had no recollection of the crash, police say. She was taken into custody at 4:20 p.m.
During a search of her purse, police say they found an electronic smoking device containing suspected THC. Savage consented to a blood draw, which showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.180% and the presence of THC, according to police.

Darryl Lucas Jr., 36, Donaldson
A 36-year-old Donaldson man faces DUI and speeding charges after police say they caught him driving 90 mph in a 40 mph zone in Porter Township.
Darryl Lucas Jr. is charged with a misdemeanor count of DUI and summary offenses.
Police say they paced Lucas’s white 2008 Chevrolet Silverado at 90 mph on Route 209 at about 12:30 a.m. on May 16. During a traffic stop, police say Lucas had bloodshot, watery eyes and an odor of alcohol. When asked if he had consumed alcohol, Lucas stated, “A little bit. I drank one or two beers; I won’t lie to you,” police say.
Lucas tested positive for alcohol on a preliminary breath test, was arrested, and later consented to a blood test that showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.162%, police say.
Bradley Merwine, 47, Hegins
A 47-year-old Hegins man faces drug possession and DUI charges after police say they stopped his motorcycle for an expired registration in Pine Grove.
Bradley Merwine is charged with misdemeanor drug and DUI counts, along with summary traffic violations.
Police say they stopped Merwine at about 2:20 a.m. on May 30. Merwine, whose license was suspended, was talkative with glassy eyes and constricted pupils, police say. He stated he was clean from heroin and other substances but “probably maybe” smoked medical marijuana “yesterday,” according to police.
Police say Merwine continued to ramble about unrelated topics and was placed in custody at 2:48 a.m. During a search, police say they found a smoking pipe with residue and 12 suspected oxycodone pills. Merwine later refused a chemical blood test, police say.
Dylan Brewer, 21, Lebanon
A 21-year-old Lebanon man faces DUI charges after police say he sped and swerved in Tremont Township before parking his pickup truck across multiple spaces at a Pine Grove Township truck stop.
Dylan Brewer is charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and summary traffic offenses.
Police say they paced Brewer’s black Dodge Ram at 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on May 15 and observed it strike the center line at least five times. The truck then parked perpendicular to parking stalls at Speedway, police say.
Brewer had glassy, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of alcohol, police say. He admitted to having “maybe two” drinks, and police noted an open package of Busch Light in the truck. Brewer tested positive on a preliminary breath test, was arrested, and provided a blood sample showing a 0.129% BAC, police say.
Andrew Zepnikowski, 51, Valley View
A 51-year-old Valley View man faces DUI charges after police say he drove a pickup truck onto the grass of a Hegins Township property and told officers, “So I’m DUI, you got me”.
Andrew Zepnikowski is charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and an expired registration.
Police say they responded to a welfare check on W. Maple St. at a little after midnight on May 25. While speaking with a witness, police observed Zepnikowski drive his Ford F-150 onto the grass.
Zepnikowski exited the truck, implied he should be handcuffed, and stated, “So I’m DUI, you got me,” police say. When asked if he would perform field sobriety tests, Zepnikowski stated, “No, I’m drunk,” according to police. A blood test later showed a BAC of 0.106%, police say.
Tonya Moyer, 43, Pine Grove
A 43-year-old Pine Grove woman faces DUI and suspended license charges after police say she displayed signs of impairment during a traffic stop.
Tonya Moyer is charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and summary traffic offenses.
Police stopped Moyer’s Chevrolet Trailblazer shortly after 10:30 p.m. on May 29. Moyer, whose license was suspended for a prior DUI, pleaded not to be taken to jail and admitted she took a Xanax “earlier,” police say.
Moyer repeatedly stated she would do a blood test to prove she did not use anything and was taken into custody, police say. However, after being read standard chemical test warnings, she refused the blood test, stating she wanted a lawyer and did not trust police.
Christopher Bender, 22, Pine Grove
A 22-year-old Pine Grove man faces a DUI charge after police say he ran a stop sign and repeatedly crossed the center line in a pickup truck on May 30.
Christopher Bender is charged with a misdemeanor count of DUI and multiple summary traffic offenses.
Police say they stopped Bender’s blue Chevrolet Silverado on S. Tulpehocken St. at about 1:30 a.m. Bender had glassy, bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol but deleted drinking, stating he was being targeted, police say.
Bender tested positive for alcohol on a preliminary breath test and was taken into custody, police say. He subsequently refused a chemical blood test, telling police, “I already did a blood test before, so, uh, probably not”.
William Christensen, 56, Schuylkill Haven
A 56-year-old Schuylkill Haven man faces DUI and reckless driving charges after police say he skidded through a Minersville intersection and drove on a suspended license.
William Christensen is charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI and driving with a suspended license, along with summary offenses.
Police say they observed Christensen’s silver Kia Rio slide through an intersection shortly before 1:30 a.m. on May 15. A witness also reported seeing the vehicle “flying” down the highway and skidding, police say.
Christensen had glassy eyes, slow speech, and an odor of alcohol, but stated he “had nothing” to drink, police say. He was arrested for DUI and later refused a chemical blood test, police say.
Logan Ganey, 19, Schuylkill Haven
A 19-year-old Schuylkill Haven man faces DUI charges after police say they stopped his pickup truck following a report that he was traveling to kill his parents and himself.
Logan Ganey is charged with three counts of DUI, including a minor offense, and a summary traffic violation.
Police say they intercepted Ganey’s white Dodge pickup truck in Cass Township on April 28 following an incident in Schuylkill Haven. Ganey smelled of alcohol and admitted to having two or three beers, police say.
Ganey was taken into custody and consented to a chemical blood test, which showed a BAC of 0.094%, police say.
Francis Kehler, 28, Ashland
A 28-year-old Ashland man faces DUI and drug possession charges after police say they discovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana during a traffic stop.
Francis Kehler is charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, intentional possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, plus summary traffic offenses.
Police stopped Kehler’s Kia sedan in Minersville on May 8. Kehler stated he was worried about drug court, prompting police to ask if he had drugs, police say. Kehler revealed a glass cylinder with white residue and a metal spoon with burnt residue, police say.
A search of the vehicle yielded suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and a makeshift smoking device, police say. A blood test later showed the presence of amphetamines and methamphetamine, according to police.
Patrick Button, 54, Schuylkill Haven
A 54-year-old Schuylkill Haven man faces DUI charges after police say he rode a high-powered electric bicycle on Route 61 while intoxicated.
Patrick Button is charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and several summary offenses.
Police say they stopped Button on New Year’s Eve after observing him riding an e-bike capable of 37 mph without a license plate or safety equipment. Button lost his balance when he got off the bike, had slurred speech, and smelled strongly of alcohol, police say.
Button told police he had a couple of beers and was riding to buy more alcohol, believing he was legally driving on the highway, police say. He was taken into custody, and a blood test later showed a 0.119% BAC, police say.
Jodi Helman, 43, Schuylkill Haven
A 43-year-old Schuylkill Haven woman faces DUI charges after police say she crossed lane lines 13 times on the Gordon Nagle Trail.
Jodi Helman is charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and summary traffic offenses.
Police say they stopped Helman’s white Ford Focus shortly before 12:30 a.m. on April 18. Helman admitted she had been drinking, saying she consumed “One Orange Crush” at around 11 p.m., police say.
Helman refused a preliminary breath test and was arrested for DUI, police say. She later consented to a blood test, which indicated a BAC of 0.101%, according to police.
