A Virginia man was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison Thursday after he allegedly waved a gun at a group of kids in Mahanoy City.
Police in the borough say they received such a report coming from the Cocoa Hut convenience store. A short time later, Dylan Peters, 19, of Norfolk, was located near W. Market St. A brief foot pursuit ensued before Peters was taken into custody.

Peters was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley and charged with felony counts of possessing a firearm with an obliterated Serial number, possessing a gun without a license, and evading arrest on foot. Misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, flight to avoid apprehension, and possession of marijuana were also filed against him.
Reiley set bail at $75,000 cash. Mahanoy City Police say Peters is also wanted on an outstanding warrant from the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia.
