A Schuylkill County man is wanted by police, accused of stalking, threatening, and assaulting another man during multiple confrontations outside a Saint Clair residence.
Michael Workman Jr., 37, of Tremont, faces misdemeanor charges of stalking, terroristic threats, and simple assault, along with summary offenses of harassment and disorderly conduct. The charges stem from incidents on May 23 and May 24.
Police in Saint Clair say they responded to a home in the 500 block of S. Front St. shortly after midnight on May 24 for a welfare check. A man at the residence reported that Workman had been harassing and stalking him out of jealousy over a mutual female acquaintance, police say. The victim told police that Workman routinely drives past and parks outside his home multiple times a week.
The victim provided police with video of a confrontation recorded prior to their arrival. Police say the footage shows Workman pulling back his arm with a closed fist and aggressively lunging at the victim multiple times.
During the recording, police say Workman told the victim, “It’s not going to stop,” and “As long as you’re with her, problems are going to continue to rise.” Police say Workman then aggressively exited his vehicle and stated, “I’m going to get arrested tonight, f*** it,” before charging and swinging a closed fist at the man.
The victim told police that Workman struck his chest during the altercation. In a second video provided by the victim, the man accused Workman of coming to the property to assault him, an accusation police say Workman did not deny.
The victim also told police that Workman sent messages threatening to “toss his house” and “burn his house down.”
Police returned to the residence around 8:30 p.m. on May 24 after receiving additional information. The victim reported that Workman had returned to the home that morning using a bullhorn to yell outside the property, police say.
The victim told police he remains in fear for his safety due to the ongoing harassment, threats, and Workman’s criminal history.
