Schuylkill County Man Charged with Making Unwanted Advances on Minor Co-worker

Jagger Missimer facing misdemeanor charges

Police have charged a Schuylkill County man after he allegedly grabbed a 17-year-old female coworker by the waist and forcibly kissed her inside an elevator.

Police say they received a ChildLine referral regarding the incident that allegedly occurred at Schuylkill Center in East Norwegian Township on Feb. 12. Jagger Missimer, 33, of Pottsville, and the victim were both employed at the facility at the time, police say.

The victim told police that at about 6:30 p.m., she went to the elevator to collect food carts after returning from a break. Missimer was present, and they briefly discussed gathering the carts before the doors closed, the victim reported.

Once inside the elevator, Missimer asked the teenager, “Are you into older guys?” police say. The victim responded that she was not interested, explaining that she was not over her ex-boyfriend, police say.

The victim told police she was standing in front of the control panel with Missimer to her left. After the doors closed, she leaned forward to press a floor number button, and Missimer grabbed her by the waist and pulled her toward him. The victim reported she lost her balance and fell against the elevator wall.

Missimer then forcibly kissed her on the lips and continued to her right cheek and down her neck, the victim told police. She estimated the elevator ride lasted 10 to 15 seconds.

The victim told police she was in shock following the incident and did not know how to respond. Missimer exited the elevator, while the victim remained inside in a state of shock, police say.

Police have charged Missimer with misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and indecent assault as well as a summary count of harassment. He’s been ordered to appear at a preliminary hearing on these charges at District Court in Port Carbon on June 16.
