Police say they’re currently investigating another case of suspected animal cruelty in Schuylkill County.
According to State Police-Schuylkill Haven, Troopers were called to an alleyway off E. Grand Ave. in Tower City back on Sept. 10. A dog was discovered there in poor physical condition.
Police say the dog was taken to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, Pine Grove Township, and then transported to Bernville Veterinary Pet & Spa Resort, Jefferson Township, Berks County.
Sadly, the dog was in such poor condition that a veterinary in Bernville decided that the most humane action that could be taken was euthanasia, police say.
Police indicate they’re investigating this incident as a case of animal cruelty and steps are being taken to identify the dog’s owner.
