A Schuylkill County man remains behind bars after police allege that he violated a Protection From Abuse order earlier this month when he punched a woman and pulled her hair.
According to court documents, a Trooper from State Police-Schuylkill Haven was dispatched to Port Carbon shortly before 6 a.m. on June 6 for a PFA violation.
The victim told police that her boyfriend – identified as Justin Marx, 35, arrived home intoxicated and got aggressive and argumentative. Marx was reportedly upset that he forgot his phone at work.
A verbal confrontation got physical when Marx allegedly began pulling the victim’s hair and then punched her in the face. This all allegedly happened in front of the victim’s infant son, according to police.
Police say that despite the PFA the victim had against Marx, she had been letting him stay with her.
Marx was arraigned before District Magistrate Judge David Plachko on June 12. He’s been charged with endangering the welfare of children, a third-degree felony, simple assault, a misdemeanor, and harassment, a summary offense.
Plachko set bail at 10% of $25,000, which hasn’t been posted and Marx remains housed in Schuylkill County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 8.
