Police in Minersville say they’re looking for information on a reported assault in the borough on Thursday afternoon.
This assault happened in the area of Front and Lewis streets at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
During the assault, an unknown man struck another man from behind and fled the scene, police report.
The victim of the alleged assault suffered severe head trauma was taken by medical helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
Police report witnesses seeing the assailant wearing a green hooded sweatshirt flee the area of the assault on Lewis St.
Anyone with information on this reported assault or who may have video surveillance footage is asked to contact Minersville Chief Jeffrey Bowers at 570-544-6212.
All information will remain confidential, police say.
