An arrest warrant has been issued for a Schuylkill County man who police say led them on a high-speed pursuit on his ATV.
According to court documents, police in Frackville say they witnessed Heath Livergood, 35, commit a traffic violation while he was operating a Yamaha Blaster ATV in the area of W. Pine St. turning on to Balliet St.
Police say they attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Livergood. After turning on emergency lights and sirens, police say Livergood decided to accelerate, heading south on N. Lehigh Ave. at a high rate of speed and then trying to turn left onto E. Frack St.
As Livergood was trying to make the turn onto Frack St., police say they saw something getting ejected from between his legs. Police later recovered the object and found it to be an open can of Smirnoff Red White & Berry.
Livergood kept going east on Frack St., blowing through two Stop signs, then turning onto S. Spencer St. and then Oak St. Eventually, Livergood drove onto an ATV trai behind a cemetery on Morea Rd.
At that point, police decided to give up their pursuit over safety concerns.
On May 27, Magisterial District Court Judge Edward Tarantelli signed an arrest warrant for Livergood. Police are charging him with fleeing police, a felony, as well as numerous summary offenses, including a violation of the open container law in vehicles and scattering rubbish.
