A Schuylkill Haven man is being charged with DUI and other offenses following a crash in which he struck two vehicles and a light pole over the weekend in Pottsville.
According to information released by police in Pottsville, the three-vehicle crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. on May 24 in the 300 block of S. Centre St.
Police say a vehice driven by Jordan Pflueger, 37, of Schuylkill Haven, was headed north on S. Centre St. when he drove into the oncoming traffic lane, hitting a Chevrolet Silverado that was driving south at the time.
Pflueger’s vehicle then continued on S. Centre St. when it struck a parked vehicle and a light pole. Police say Pflueger fled the scene of the crash on foot but was later taken into custody in a wooded area on S. 2nd St.
Pflueger allegedly admitted to police that he was drunk and under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the crash.
The two occupants inside the Silverado were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville for treatment. All three vehicles involved in the incident were towed from the scene, police say.
Pflueger is being charged with accidents involving damage to vehicles or property, DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several summary traffic offenses.
