YouTube TV customers recently got notified of a rate hike that takes effect in 2025.
Starting on Jan. 13 of next year, the cost of a base monthly subscription to the streaming TV service will be $82.99. It is currently $72.99.
“We don’t make these decisions lightly, and we realize this has an impact on our members,” the company says in an email to current subscribers.
The price change will take effect during the first billing cycle on or after Jan. 13, 2025. Customers on a trial or promotional price for the YouTube TV service will continue to get streaming TV at that price.
YouTube TV’s price increase puts it on the level with two of the other three popular streaming services that offer subscribers access to local networks. DirecTV Stream is currently $87 per month. Hulu with Live TV is $83, basically the same as YouTube TV’s new price. Fubo is currently priced at $80.
