Pottsville City Council members voted unanimously to terminate a police officer Monday evening.
Council voted 4-0 to fire TImothy Youse from the Pottsville police force. Councilman Andy Wollyung was not in attendance
No comments were made about the termination, either from the public or Council members. It’s not known what led to the firing.
When the City released its meeting Agenda online prior to Monday’s meeting, the name of the officer was not listed.
However, information provided to the media at City Council chambers just prior to the meeting included a sheet that listed Youse as the officer who was subject of the termination vote.
Pottsville Police Chief John Morrow did not provide comment on the termination to the Republican Herald. The Canary had to dash after the meeting to make it to another meeting that started immediately after City Council on Monday.
