Police Investigating Burglary, Fire at Residence in North Manheim

Anyone with info is asked to come forward.

Police are looking for information about a suspected burglary that allegedly happened Thursday night along Route 61 in North Manheim Township.

According to information from State Police, this incident happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Thursday in the 200 block of Route 61-South in North Manheim Township. 

At that time, police say a neighbor saw three men walking out of a nearby residence with items belonging to his neighbor. The neighbor was away from his home at the time. 

That neighbor says he gave chase to the three men but they fled in an unknown direction. 

Also at that time, the neighbor saw fire had ignited in the alleged victim’s kitchen. The fire was extinguished. It’s believed the fire was started by the three men who left that residence and then fled.

That neighbor also told police that earlier Thursday night, he saw an Hispanic female surveying the residence in question prior to the arrival of the three unknown men.

Police also say that approximately 15 vehicles at the property in question were also damaged.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information about it is asked to call State Police-Schuylkill Haven at 570-754-4600,
