Pottsville Woman Accused of Not Being Master of Her Domain in Public Waives Right to Hearing

A Pottsville woman accused of pleasuring herself in public back in May waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Monday.

Rhiannon Hennessy, 41, had her case waived to County court by District Magistrate James Reiley on Monday morning.

Hennessy faces charges of open lewdness and public drunkenness following an incident that allegedly happened at a little before 4 a.m. on May 16 in Pottsville.

According to an affidavit, police were summoned to the 1200 block of W. Market St. at that time. The caller told police that someone was laying between two cars on that block and was moaning.

When police arrived, they found a female laying between two parked vehicles. The woman was identified as Hennessy. Police say Hennessy’s pants were around her ankles, she was moaning and … ya know …

Two Pottsville police officers say they helped Hennessy pull up her pants. They say she had trouble standing and one officer had to hold her arm to prevent her from swaying.

Hennessy’s words were slurred when she was questioned by police and she allegedly admitted to drinking prior to her public exhibition.
