A Pottsville man was sentenced to nearly 10 years in federal prison on drug and gun charges this week.
According to the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, William Quintana, 51, was given a sentence of 117 months (9 years, 9 months) by US District Court Judge Malachy Mannion on Wednesday in a Scranton courtroom.
Quintana had pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of firearms in the furtherance of that drug offense.
The Pottsville man admitted to authorities that on Sept. 29, 2022, he had in his possession meth with the intent to sell it and a Star 9mm pistol and a .380 Diamondback pistol.
The FBI, Pottsville Bureau of Police, Schuylkill County Drug Task Force and District Attorney’s Office all participated in the investigation that led to Quintana’s arrest and conviction.
