A Ringtown man is in Schuylkill County Prison on Monday after police say he shot a woman in the leg last night.
According to information from State Police-Frackville and the Troop L Major Case team, the incident happened at a little after 7 p.m. Sunday at 527 W. Main St. in Ringtown.
Police say Austin Snyder, 25, shot a 51-year-old Shenandoah woman in the leg. Three others were present at the time of the shooting, a 24-year-old woman, a 3-year-old girl and a 4-month-old boy.
The Shenandoah woman was taken by medical helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center-Danville for treatment. She’s listed in stable condition.
Snyder was arraigned early Monday morning before District Magistrate Anthony Kilker and charged with the following felonies:
- First-degree aggravated assault
- Second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
- 2 counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of children
Snyder also faces four misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and a summary harassment charge.
Kilker set cash bail at $150,000.
A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for July 3 before District Magistrate Edward Tarantelli.
