State Police in Schuylkill County say they’ll be conducting sobriety checkpoints throughout the month of May.
Troopers from the Frackville and Schuylkill Haven barracks recently announced these DUI checkpoints will be set up starting May 1.
The Schuylkill Haven barracks says its DUI patrols will run through the entire month.
However, in recent releases from the Frackville barracks, the weekend of May 17-19 is targeted as the time they says its checkpoints will be established.
Roadways where these checkpoints will be conducted have not been disclosed.
During a sobriety checkpoint, police say they “briefly observe drivers for articulable facts and/or behaviors normally associated with alcohol or drug-impaired drivers.”
When its patrols have concluded, police say they’ll make results of these checkpoints public.
