Local authorities executed a drug bust on a Pottsville man last week that netted more than 5 pounds of meth, thousands of dollars in weed, cocaine, and mushrooms.
According to information released by the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s office, this bust happened in Pottsville on Thursday and was the result of a joint investigation between State Police, the DA’s Office Drug Task Force, police in Pottsville, and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
These agencies obtained search and seizure warrants on 44-year-old Dylan Ciappa, of Pottsville.
In the bust, police seized the following:
- 5 pounds of methamphetamine, which has a street value of about $113,000
- 454 grams of marijuana, which has a value of about $2,500
- Cocaine
- Psilocybic mushrooms
- $5,000 in cash
Ciappa was taken into custody during the bust and later arraigned before District Magistrate David Plachko on 3 felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and another felony charge of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities. He also faces a host of misdemeanors.
Plachko set bail at $150,000 and Ciappa was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison, where he currently remains.

WOW.. Great job, police!
Now let’s see what the infamous Plachko will do. My personal bet is 3 months in county jail:-)))

Placebo set bail at $150k. He doesn’t set jail terms. It’s the DA who has a record of going soft on drug dealers who has to prosecute the case. He is probably going to recommend probation because they “want to get the bigger fish”, yet, they never do catch them.

If they really wanted to get the bigger fish they would’ve done it already. It is very sad.
