A Pottsville man has been arrested after allegedly raping a minor girl over the course of several years.
According to court documents, the reported victim of these rapes arrived at City Hall during the afternoon of Nov. 27 and requested to speak to a police officer regarding suspected sexual abuse.
During an interview, the reported victim’s mother said her daughter had been assaulted recently by Joshua Jusino, 35, of Pottsville.
After Jusino allegedly forced his victim to remove her clothes, he is accused of performing several sex acts on her, the victim told police.
Police escorted the reported victim to the hospital for an exam.
Meanwhile, Jusino was contacted and taken to City Hall for an interview. During that interview, Jusino allegedly admitted to the incident reported to police that happened last month.
He also reportedly admitted to sexually assaulting the same victim dating back several years, when she was 15 years old.
An arrest warrant was signed by District Magistrate Edward Tarantelli and Jusino was arraigned on the night of Nov. 27.
Jusino is charged with 5 counts of rape, 5 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and 5 counts of corruption of minors, all felonies. He’s also facing a host of misdemeanor charges.
Bail was set at $250,000 cash and Jusino was sent to Schuylkill County Prison, where he remains today.
He’s due back in court before District Magistrate James Reiley on Dec. 18.
