Infamous Police Sketch Suspect in Berks County Murder Has Been Arrested

Police say suspect was stealing catalytic converters

The man responsible for generating one of the more infamous police sketches has been arrested on murder charges in connection with an incident in Berks County last year.

Back in 2022, police released a notorious police sketch of a hulking man with balding orange hair who they believed killed a security guard while attempting to steal catalytic converters in Morgantown.

This is the sketch they released at the time of that August 2022 incident:

Last month, police say they had made an arrest of that suspect — David Brian Hartsook, 34, of York — and charged him with 1st-degree murder, 3rd-degree murder, and other offenses.

Police say Hartsook shot and killed Troy Rickenbach, 37, of West Reading, who was patrolling an area near Quarry Rd., and Mineview Drive in Morgantown.
