A federal grand jury has indicted Lawrence Anthony Christie, a 32-year-old inmate at FCI Schuylkill, on charges of assaulting a prison officer, according to an announcement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania on June 7, 2023.
The indictment states that Christie allegedly physically struck a corrections officer, causing bodily injury, on May 14, 2021. The FBI, together with the Special Investigative Services of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, conducted an investigation into this matter.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Luisa Honora Berti is prosecuting the case. If Christie’s found guilty, he could face a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison, a supervised release term when he gets out, and a fine.
