A Mahanoy City man is locked up at Schuylkill County Prison after police authorities say he was dealing fentanyl and other drugs.
According to State Police in Frackville, a joint investigation between they and the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force led to a search warrant being executed on a Spruce St. residence occupied by 57-year-old Francis Merva, of Mahanoy City, on Jan. 11.
Police say the search resulted in the discovery of fentanyl, oxycontin, and other controlled substances.
Merva was taken before District Judge Stephen Bayer and charged with 2 counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bayer set Merva’s bail at $50,000 and committed him to the County Prison in Pottsville, where he currently sits.
A preliminary hearing on these charges is scheduled for Feb. 2.
