A woman died Saturday afternoon in a vehicle crash in western Schuylkill County.
State Police have not identified the female driver of a car that lost control along E. Main St. in Hubley Township after 3 p.m. Saturday.
Police say the car was headed west in the 2200 block of E. Main St. As the driver approached a right curve in the road, she lost control over the vehicle and left the road to the right, or north, side of the road.
The vehicle continued headed west off the road until it struck the front porch of a house on E. Main St. After hitting the porch, the vehicle then smashed into a tree, where it finally came to rest.
Police suspect the driver suffered severe head and neck injuries during the crash and say the woman eventually succumbed to those injuries at the incident scene. She was pronounced dead by a member of the Schuylkill County Coroner’s office.
The victim’s next-of-kin has been notified at the scene of the crash, police say.
