Pennsylvania State Police are now accepting candidates from Schuylkill County for Camp Cadet.
Camp Cadet is a police-oriented summer camp for boys and girls between the ages of 12-15. All activities are supervised by a counseling staff of state and local law enforcement officials. Additionally, cadets participate in marksmanship activities, swimming, horseback riding, volleyball, and kickball.
They’ll also see presentations on topics like the bomb squad, SERT, patrol, K-9 police, aviation, the FBI, and computer crimes.
Camp Cadet is held at Camp Manatawny in Douglassvile, Berks County. It will be held from Aug. 14-20, 2022.
The cost of Camp Cadet is $140 plus a $10 application fee. You can get an application online here, the Camp Cadet Troop L Alumni Facebook page, or if you stop by any of these Troop L barracks: Schuylkill Haven, Frackville, Hamburg, Jonestown, and Reading.
The camp is also open to youths from Berks and Lebanon counties.
Applications must be received by May 31.
