While Schuylkill County escaped snowfall during this latest winter storm, it’s not without the threat of dangerous conditions.
National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Flood Advisory until 9 a.m. Friday.
Rain and freezing rain along with melting snow and ice jams on area streams and rivers may lead to flooding in poor drainage areas during this storm.
As much as three-quarters of an inch of rain will fall on Schuylkill County during the winter storm that just missed us with heavy snowfall from Thursday into Friday this week.
Freezing rain is expected in the area on Friday morning as temperatures drop below freezing.
The storm is expected to move out of the area Friday afternoon, when snow showers will linger before tapering off completely and ushering in a new round of very wintry temperatures.
