A Pine Grove man says he paid someone to clean his chimney but the person never showed up.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, a 37-year-old man living on Circle Drive in Pine Grove Township paid someone doing business as Dr. Chimney $1,090 to perform chimney maintenance.
He paid for the work in September 2021 but Dr. Chimney was a no-show.
This is the third story of home improvement fraud in the area just this week.
We recently reported on a father-son duo who got picked up by police in Berks County for bilking customers out of home improvement service.
Police are not saying these incidents are related in any way.
The Haven barracks is still investigating the alleged theft of services in Pine Grove.
