A pair of teens from Schuylkill Haven were seriously injured in a vehicle crash in Berks County on Christmas Day.
According to information released from State Police in Hamburg, the crash happened just before 7 p.m. along Rake Rd., Centre Twp.
Police say a 16-year-old boy behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado was headed north on Rake Rd. As he was driving downhill and trying to maneuver through a right curve in the road, the vehicle slid on the wet roadway and through the curve.
The boy’s vehicle slid across and off the road, hitting a tree with the front driver’s side. It then continued until it hit a fence at a nearby property, finally coming to rest. The entire left side of the vehicle sustained damage on the driver’s side.
The boy and his 14-year-old male passenger were taken to Reading Hospital for treatment of what police are calling “major” injuries.
