A Schuylkill County man was arrested last week after allegedly hitting a woman with a wooden board and threatening her with a knife.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the incident happened back on Oct. 9 at Gap and West Main Sts. in Hegins Township.
Police say 9-1-1 dispatchers reported a hang-up. The person who hung up called 9-1-1 back from another phone and said that a friend had hit her with a wooden board.
When police arrived at the woman’s location, she told them she’d gotten into a fight with 45-year-old Gene Klinger, of Gordon, over a prior incident.
Klinger allegedly then struck the woman with a wooden board. She said Klinger also stole her phone and then held a knife to her neck but she was able to get away.
Police say the woman suffered minor injuries during this altercation.
Klinger’s looking at 2 felony counts of aggravated assault from this incident. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bond by District Judge Stephen Bayer back on the 9th. He’s due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 4 before District Judge David Rossi.
