A Schuylkill County woman is currently in prison after police say she stabbed her boyfriend in the leg with a steak knife.
According to information from State Police in Schuylkill Haven and court records, an early-morning argument back on Sept. 15 escalated quickly.
Police say they responded to W. Maple St. in Hegins Township at about 1:30 a.m. on the 15th. They say Summer Rayne Gearhart, 18, and her boyfriend, also 18, were involved in an argument.
Things then got heated and Gearhart allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the leg with a steak knife.
Police took Gearhart into custody and she was arraigned in front of District Judge James Reiley in Pottsville later that morning. He sent her to Schuylkill County Prison on $15,000 cash bail, which she hasn’t posted.
Gearhart isn’t due back in court – before District Judge David Rossi in Tremont – until Nov. 4, after a preliminary hearing on Sept. 30 was continued. She’s facing charges of aggravated assault, assault, and harassment.
