On a very special episode of 227 …
Police in Minersville say they netted a bulk stash of heroin during a raid on a home in the borough earlier this week.
Mary Jenkins would not be happy about this.
Court records show police showed up Monday Wednesday morning at 227 Delaware Ave. in Minersville to execute a search warrant. Inside, they found Carlos Antonio Cruz, 28, and Rachel Poor in an upstairs bedroom.
During what’s described by police as a “neat and orderly” search, a stash of “pre-packaged bulk heroin” was discovered. Police also found pre-packaged weed, digital scales, baggies likely be used in the sale of these drugs, and a “large quantity” of hypodermic needles. All these items were in the same bedroom with Cruz and Poor, police say.
Cruz allegedly admitted to the drugs and paraphernalia being his. He was taken before District Judge Dave Plachko and arraigned on a felony possession with intent to deliver charge and 2 misdemeanor possession charges.
He was sent to Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 cash bail, which he hasn’t posted. Cruz will be in court on Sept. 14 for a preliminary hearing before Plachko.
