Visitors and employees at any Schuylkill County government building must now wear a face mask indoors regardless of their “vaccination status”. This policy goes into place starting Tuesday, Aug. 17.
According to information released today from the Courthouse, this updated policy is due to the “recent substantial spread of the coronavirus locally.”
Schuylkill County Government Reinstitutes Mask Policy
We just reported that the CDC has Schuylkill County as one of a decreasing number of counties nationwide with a “Substantial” spread of COVID-19. However, the county is nearing the threshold to being classified as having a “High” rate of community transmission.
We also noted that this change would likely lead to changes in mask policies and Schuylkill County government was the first to do something.
Quarantine Procedures
In addition to the face mask policy, the County says, for employees, it’s continuing “current procedures for testing and quarantine requirements for individuals who have been exposed to the coronavirus or were exposed to someone who is experiencing symptoms of the virus.”
