A North Carolina Man was killed along Interstate 81 Monday morning after she lost control of her vehicle.
According to information from State Police in Frackville, the fatal incident happened at about 1:30 this morning near Mile Marker 138 in Kline Township on the northbound side of the highway.
Police have identified Jody Moffett, 52, of Fayetteville, NC, as the victim. They say he was driving alone, in the right lane, going north on I-81. At one point, Moffett entered the left lane and when she tried to get back into the right lane, she “overcompensated” and her vehicle rolled over several times.
The vehicle came to rest in the right lane and on the right shoulder of the road. Moffett was ejected from her vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office. Police believe Moffett was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Assisting State Police at the scene of the crash were members of McAdoo Fire Dept., McAdoo Ambulance, Lehigh Valley Health EMS, Mahanoy City’s West End Fire Dept., Fire Police from Hometown and Delano, and PennDOT.
