A Mary D man is accused of threatening to stab a woman during a domestic disturbance earlier this week.
According to State Police in Frackville, they say they dispatched to a home on Back St. in Mary D, Schuylkill Township, just before 2 p.m. on March 23.
Following an investigation, police believe 58-year-old John Swenson grabbed, pushed, and shoved a 60-year-old woman at that home. At some point during the fight, police say Swenson grabbed a knife and held it to the woman’s throat, threatening to stab her.
Swenson was taken into custody and arraigned that evening before District Judge James Reiley in Pottsville. He now faces a first-degree felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats and assault. Swenson also faces a summary harassment charge.
Reiley committed Swenson to Schuylkill County Prison on $15,000 cash bail, where he remains today. Swenson is due back in court on March 30 at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing before District Judge David Plachko in Port Carbon.
