A Schuylkill County man was found passed out behind the wheel of his truck earlier this week, shortly after he was discovered passed out in a gas station bathroom.
Police believe 29-year-old Jonathan Emerich, of Frackville, was high on some kind of drug when they found him, at about 5:30 p.m. Monday, along Grand Ave. near Tower City. Emerich was out cold behind the wheel of his Ford F350 at the time.
That was about 2 miles away from where police also believe Emerich was found passed out a short time earlier.
State Police in Schuylkill Haven say they got a call from employees at the Top Star gas station there in Tower City. They said a man in a blue Ford F-350 came in to the store asking to use the bathroom. A half-hour passed and employees discovered Emerich passed out in the bathroom. They believe he had overdosed.
He obviously got up from the gas station bathroom and got behind the wheel of his truck.
Police took Emerich into custody after finding him in his truck down the road from the Tower City business. They took him into custody and sent him to a Pottsville hospital.
In his F350, Emerich allegedly had some drug paraphernalia, for which he’ll be charged.
