A Pottsville man finds himself in Schuylkill County Prison after shooting and killing a dog and injuring the dog’s owner with a gunshot.

According to WNEP.com, Seth Howard, 34, opened fire on a pit bull near 4th and W. Market Sts. in the city Thursday afternoon, at about 1:30.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots ring out downtown. One woman working nearby said she heard more than a dozen shots.

As Howard was firing at the dog, one of his shots hit the dog’s owner, William Clark, 35, also of Pottsville. Clark was flown by helicopter for treatment of his injuries.

After the shooting, Howard surrendered to police. He put his weapon on the ground and a nearby Constable recovered it. Pottsville PD took Howard into custody. He’s now facing felony charges in connection with the incident.
