Fire broke out at an unoccupied home in Port Carbon early Friday morning.
Calls went out just after 4:15 a.m. sending firefighters to 208 Valley St. The half of a double home was showing flames coming out of the second and third floors upon arrival of the first firefighters, according to emergency radio communications.
When we arrived, flames had mostly been tamped down by the fast-acting first responders but heavy smoke poured out of the second and third floors.
Fire crews could be seen attacking the blaze from all angles. Smoke did appear to be coming from the highest floor of the occupied home next door.
Firefighters were still on the scene at 5:30 Friday morning.
We’ll have more on this story as the day develops.
