Today’s Weather in a GIF
Schuylkill County Weather Report for July 22
We may see an official end to the heat wave on Wednesday in Schuylkill County but that doesn’t mean the heat is going away. National Weather Service predicts the Heat Index could get near 100 today. However, high temperatures could just hit 90 across the coal region.
But it won’t be the heat (or the humidity) that should grab your attention today. It’s the threat of severe thunderstorms.
NWS predicts storms will start rolling into the area after 4 p.m. today. These slow movers will drench Schuylkill County in heavy rain when they do arrive. Wind gusts could reach 60 mph, too, so keep your eye to the sky in the afternoon if your’e out and about.
Flooding is possible in areas that often get flooded. Up to a half-inch of rain is expected in areas that get hit with storms.
Storms should clear out of the area for the day around 9 p.m.
