Schuylkill County’s total of positive COVID-19 coronavirus is now at 9. That total is 3 higher than yesterday.
This is the fifth consecutive day of positive coronavirus cases locally. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown:

- March 23: 2
- March 24: 2
- March 25: 1
- March 26: 3
Statewide, there are 1,687 positive cases as of noon Thursday, March 26. That’s 560 cases more than Wednesday.
However, Health Sec. Rachel Levine revealed earlier this week the state is not tracking people who’ve recovered from COVID-19 coronavirus. The first case in Pennsylvania was reported on March 6.
Five more coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Pennsylvania in the last 24 hours. That brings the state’s total to 16.
Schuylkill County at 9 Positive Coronavirus Cases
While the apparent “spike” in the number of positive cases may alarm some. It appears the state learned of many more test results, too
In addition to the 1,687 positive cases, there are an additional 16,441 negatives. That means 9.3% of those receiving a coronavirus test are testing positive. That percentage has remained fairly consistent since the state started testing. A total of 18,128 tests have been conducted.
Statewide, Philadelphia County has the most positive cases, 402. Montgomery County has the second most, 282. And Delaware County has the third most positive tests, 156.
