Meanwhile in Minersville – I Hate It Here and I Want to Go Home

Apparently @Queen_Drea_Xox can’t take their time in Minersville.

Haven’t they heard that there’s a NEW Minersville?

The Decline of Minersville

Apparently, even the promise of a NEW Minersville more bright and shiny that the first one couldn’t keep the people in town.

And this Twitter user isn’t alone.

Like most Schuylkill County communities, the population in Minersville has been dropping like a stone.

The last estimate, taken in 2017, shows the borough’s population at 4,189. Only back in 2010, there were more than 200 more people in town than now.

And back in 1980, Minersville’s population was 5,635. The people count peaked in Minersville back in 1930. That’s when 9,392 people lived there.
