Monday was like our sneak peek of the rainy forecast ahead of us.
We got a bit of rain in the morning but then it stopped, for the most part, but it’s hardly finished.
New forecasts show we could get up to 3 more inches of rain between Tuesday and Wednesday. But the rain is expected to continue, albeit lightly, into Thursday as well.
And it’s not as if it’s one of those nice mild Spring rains. No, we can’t have nice things. We’re looking at a prolonged miserable chilly, raw rain event over the next couple days.
But again, the bright side is on the other side of this. We could be getting close to the 60s next week. And just think of the flowers these April showers will produce.

Here’s the latest 7-day forecast for Pottsville from National Weather Service …
Tuesday 🌧️🌫️: A rainy day with patches of fog before 9am, hitting a high of around 45°. Expect an east breeze at 6 to 15 mph, gusts could hit 23 mph. Rain’s a sure bet, 100%, with quite a soak expected, tallying three quarters to one inch.
Tuesday Night 🌧️: The rain’s not stopping yet, with temperatures dropping to 39°. A brisk east wind at 16 to 20 mph, gusts could reach 30 mph. Precipitation remains likely at 100%, accumulating another quarter to half an inch.
Wednesday 🌧️: Continuous rain with a brisk high of 42°. East winds keep at it with 22 mph, gusting up to 37 mph. Rain chance sticks at 100%, expecting another three quarters to one inch of water.
Wednesday Night 🌧️: More rain and a low of 36°. East to west winds at 9 to 15 mph, gusts could top 25 mph. Rainfall is certain, 100%, with a quarter to half an inch more on the way.
Thursday 🌧️: Likely rain and mostly cloudy skies, reaching near 44°. There’s a 70% chance of precipitation, with less rain expected, under a tenth of an inch.
Thursday Night 🌧️: Rain’s probable before 9pm, then mostly cloudy, cooling to 33°. Rain chance stays at 70%.
Friday ⛅: Transitioning to partly sunny skies with a high around 44°.
Friday Night 🌜: Sticking mostly cloudy, the temperature dips to 34°.
Saturday ⛅: Partly sunny and a bit breezier, with temps pushing to 47°.
