An inch of rain or more expected!

About an inch of rain is expected to fall on Schuylkill County in the coming days with temperatures staying too Spring-like for our liking.

We’ve got a wet and wild few days ahead of us here in Schuylkill County. Well, we’re not too sure about the wild part, but it’ll be wet. We’re certain of that.

Prepare for a damp Friday as the skies open up, showering us with rain mainly after 1 pm. Don’t let the high of 51° fool you; the gusty east winds will reach up to 30 mph, making it feel even cooler. Keep those raincoats handy with a 90% chance of precipitation and potential rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch.

The soggy saga continues Friday night with relentless rain and lows around 45°. The east wind refuses to back down, blowing at a breezy 21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Expect a whopping 100% chance of precipitation and half to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall.

Wake up to a drizzly Saturday morning with light rain likely before 11 am. Despite the gloomy, cloudy skies, the high will hover near 51°. Hold onto your hats as the east wind gusts up to 32 mph! The 70% chance of precipitation brings new rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch.

Saturday night offers a brief respite from the downpour, with only a 30% chance of precipitation. Lows will settle around 45°, and the east wind will slow to 8 mph.

But don’t get too comfortable! Sunday roars back with a 90% chance of precipitation, including rain and possibly thunderstorms after 11 am. Highs will reach 59°, but it’ll be breezy once again.

The rain continues Sunday night, mainly before 2 am, with an 80% chance of precipitation and lows around 44°. Breezy conditions persist.

We’ll finally see some sunlight on Monday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 55°. Monday night will be mostly cloudy with lows around 41°.

Tuesday brings a 50% chance of showers after 2 pm and a high near 53°. Tuesday night’s precipitation chances drop to 30% with lows around 40°.

Expect a partly sunny Wednesday with a 30% chance of showers and highs near 54°. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with lows around 40° and a 30% chance of showers.

And finally, on Thursday, we’ll see partly sunny skies and a high near 58°.
