Here are some details on what you should do.
Lehigh Valley Health Network COVID-19 Coronavirus Pre-screening
If you think you might have COVID-19 coronavirus or been exposed to someone who has, LVHN says you have two options:
- Call 1-888-402-LVHN or
- Use LVHN Video Visit
To use the online option, you’ll need to download the MyLVHN app on your mobile phone or computer. Check out the hospital’s instructions for downloading the app in the way you prefer by clicking or tapping HERE.
The hospital urges people if they think they may have been exposed to or have COVID-19 coronavirus, their first action is to stay home.
“We want to screen you via these technologies so that you remain in your own home and only need to leave if testing is needed. This screening helps reduce the spread of COVID-19 and it helps keep your doctor’s office open and available to provide other important care,” LVHN states on its website.
Someone with the hospital determines if you need further testing. Those who do are directed to one of the hospital’s 8 COVID-19 Assess and Test locations. That test works if you’ve got an active COVID-19 coronavirus disease. Only being exposed to the virus will not appear on this test.
Here are the closest testing locations through LVHN. Remember, the hospital urges you to stay home, first, and then be directed to one of these facilities by someone from LVHN:
- LVHN COVID-19 Assess and Test–Cressona
35 Sillyman Street, Cressona, PA 17929
- LVHN COVID-19 Assess and Test–Hazleton
140 N Sherman Court, Hazleton, PA 18201
- LVHN COVID-19 Assess and Test–Palmerton
528 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, PA 18071
Geisinger/St. Luke’s COVID-19 Coronavirus Pre-screening Hotline Opens
The newest hospital in Schuylkill County is offering pre-screening for the COVID-19 coronavirus by phone and online, too. It’s being offering via St. Luke’s University Health Network, per a statement released Friday.
“St. Lukeʼs is working in concert with federal, state and local government agencies as well as other area health systems to protect the health of patients and the community,” says Dr. Jeffrey Jahre, St. Luke’s infectious disease expert.
Here are the two options to contact a medical professional at Geisinger/St. Luke’s if you’re worried you may have or been in contact with someone infected with COVID-19 coronavirus:
- Call 1-866-785-8537 (Option 7) or
- Email email@example.com (Click or tap that link to open your default email client)
These lines are monitored 24-7 and headed up by nursing staff at St. Luke’s. They say this hotline is not a substitute for a doctor’s advice.
