While liberal Washington and the mainstream media pundits cry foul over the death of a terror group leader, Meuser says, “This mission was intelligence-based and aimed at deterring an imminent Iranian attack against American diplomats and service members, which Soleimani was actively developing. The United States will always defend its national interests, both at home and abroad, and we should all commend and thank our U.S. military for its efforts to protect American lives.”

In a tweet also published Friday, Meuser says,

“The killing of Americans will never go unpunished, and aggression from Iran will no longer go unchecked. If Iran laid down its weapons and wanted peace, conflicts would end. If the US laid down its weapons and wanted peace, Iran would invade all of the Middle East and annihilate Israel. This is the reality of the situation and why @realDonaldTrump was absolutely justified in responding to Iran’s aggression with force. We will not allow Iran to commit terrorist acts against the US and its allies. God Bless our troops.”

Soleimani was considered a highly influential member of Iran’s Revolutionary army. He was director of the Quds, a group the US deemed a terror organization.

Meuser adds in a statement released Friday afternoon, “Under Soleimani’s leadership over the past two decades, the Quds Force bolstered Hezbollah in Lebanon. Soleimani spearheaded attacks that resulted in the death of hundreds of U.S. soldiers and thousands of Syrian civilians, and the Quds Force trained militants to execute dangerous, destabilizing acts.”

Recent Attacks Linked to Soleimani

Soleimani, according to Meuser, is responsible for recent attacks against US interests in the Middle East. In his statement, he outlines:

  • A Dec. 27 attack in Iraq that killed one defense contractor and several US troops.
  • The Dec. 31 attack on the US Embassy in Baghdad

The Embassy attack came just 2 days after President Trump ordered attacks against Hezbollah sites in Iraq and Syria.

“Even more dangerous than these acts of aggression, U.S. Intelligence became aware of imminent attacks that Soleimani was actively developing, prompting the urgent need for a swift and strong response to protect American lives.
