What is DoorDash?
DoorDash resembles Uber in a lot of ways. Independent contract drivers sign up to deliver food through DoorDash. Restaurants sign up for DoorDash to enlist these drivers to deliver their food. This is in lieu of them hiring their own delivery drivers.
How Does DoorDash Work?
First, you need to sign up for a DoorDash customer account. Then, you enter your address and DoorDash shows you the restaurants near you that use its drivers for delivery.
Place your order on DoorDash for the restaurant(s) you want and a DoorDash driver brings it to you.
How Much Does DoorDash Cost?
Nothing’s free in this world and DoorDash is no exception. A delivery fee of $5.99 applies to every order. It could go as high as $8 in some cases. However, there are many times when DoorDash offers discounts to customers.

Where is DoorDash Available in Schuylkill County?
Right now, DoorDash isn’t available everywhere in Schuylkill County. But that’s about to change for at least some more people. While the service is available during normal business hours in Pottsville, Minersville, Schuylkill Haven, and Orwigsburg, it’s not available in the northern Schuylkill County communities. And you can’t get DoorDash in Pine Grove or Tamaqua areas either.
However, a notice on the DoorDash site indicates the service is coming to Shenandoah, Frackville, and Ashland areas on July 10.
